Bev Moncrief grew up in San Jose, California. In 1979, she began her career in Early Childhood Education at San Jose Day Nursery.
In 1982, she moved to Washington state, married and settled in Enumclaw, WA. There Bev raised a family and worked in various Head Start programs. Through work experience, guidance by mentors and earning a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, Bev became a master teacher at Educare Early Learning Center in White Center, WA.
Working with children from all over the world, language development became a priority in her classroom. Children's books were vital to that learning. Skilled at engaging children in daily group times, Bev immersed children in language through song, storytelling and reading. Her passion for books lead to collecting hundreds of picture books throughout her career and eventually writing her own stories.
After more than 30 years, Bev retired from teaching in 2012. Following her passion for writing she lovingly turned her stories into books. Working with artists from around the world, she created quality, readable picture books that engage children and convey important concepts. They are written with teachers, parents and children in mind and are meant to be enjoyed time and time again at home or in the classroom.
Bev Moncrief currently resides in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
